The kids took part in athletic competitions, such as "Carry the basket on your back and run as fast as you can" and "Korean Wrestling". It was very adorable to see, and all of us foreign teachers cheered on our students.
It was great seeing all of the kids participate. I felt very proud seeing all my kids defeat the other kids in the little races. I would give them pep talks, and for some reason, they always won!
I, however, tasted defeat at the hands of my friend "The" Mark Riley. The korean teachers thought it would be great if we battled eachother in a Korean Wrestling match, best 2 out of 3. The object of this was to hold on to this sheet that was wrapped around the midsection and legs (almost like what Sumos wear). You could only hold onto this and try to bring the other person down. In a match of the ages, Mark took me down in what was one of the longest matches ever on record. We had a fun time and hopefully we will get to do it again soon.
Chuseok is the time of year that is traditionally a feasting time, as the culture began to harvest all of their crops. It occurs on September 25th, and usually there is a 3-day holiday.
Since September 25th occurred on a Tuesday, Sarah and I had a 5-day weekend.
There are a lot of pictures below that showed what took place at the Chuseok party at our school. In the next post, we'll have pictures from what we did on our break.

We hope everyone back home is doing well. We love hearing from you.
