Hanguks, Pinoys, and Sarah and Troy Part 4

In order to get to Boracay from Cebu...this is the way you need to do it:

1. Hop on an early flight from Cebu to Manila (we took a 5 am). Sippin on some Syrup... Tito Tony and Tita Daisy gave us this coconut. But security told us that we would have to check the coconut in with our check in baggage or consume it before boarding. When we opened it up, we found out that it was filled with a caramel-like syrup

2. Check in your luggage at Manila so you can get your seats to Caticlan (the island the airport is on in order to get to Boracay). Wait about 2 1/2 hours first. Pass the time by sleeping on the ground until someone notices you and lets you check in luggage.

3. Wait 4 hours till the first plane of the day arrives for Caticlan.

4. Arrive at Caticlan, and take a tricycle to the pier.

5. Hop on a "Banca" and take a short ride across the ocean till you get to Boracay.

6. Get in a Jeepny that will take you to the main stretch of beach at Boracay.

7. Follow your guide as they take your luggage to your hotel. Usually you will travel through the new D'Mall. Take a glance in one of the shops.

8. Check in, and realize you took 5 modes of transportation in order to enjoy your vacation. :)

Once you do all of those steps, you can relax, enjoy yourself, put on your swimsuit, and walk to the beach. Make sure you never change your clothes while in Boracay, for four days straight I wore a Philippines jersey and my swimming trunks. Sarah wore her swimsuit and a coverup.

We had 3 days filled with relaxing on the beach, swimming in the ocean, snorkeling, and eating Italian, Indian, Mexican, and American food. To our surprise, it was empty on the 1st and the 2nd. But on the 3rd of January, people from everywhere showed up. Australia, Russia, France, Korea, Japan, and many other countries were represented on the whitest beaches in the world. The sand is so white, and the beaches are so clean, it's no wonder everyone loves Boracay.

After we had our days of fun in Boracay, we spent 1 last night in Manila, and received one of the best Christmas gifts ever....which we will show in the next post.

Hope everyone is doing well!

- Troy and Sarah
