First Ice Skating....Now Skiing?!

On the last part of Lunar New Year, we went to Muju Mountain, which is pretty comparable to mountains in Colorado, with our friends Dawn and Matt. For less than 80 bucks, you can get round trip transportation, ski rentals, day passes, and the works. Sarah is quite the natural at skiing. She's gone a few times in the past. I, however, went 1 time before, and couldn't stand on skis. This time, I did a little better.

We started off on the easy slopes, and moved up to the long 2 mile slopes at the end of the day.

We were running out of time on the last slope, and instead of asking Sarah, or Matt, or Dawn to help me up for the 50th time, I decided to "crab ski" down the mountain. Imagine crab-walking....but on skis. I placed my hands on the backs of the skis, and ZOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM! All the way down the mountain. Many people along the way wanted to help me up, but I turned them all down. Sarah was laughing so hard at my new found method of skiing, but was impressed that it actually worked in the first place.

I got a little bit of frostbite that day, but it's all cleared up now. I'm as good as new, and who knows, maybe Crab-skiing can become an olympic event.

It really is amazing that one can go see and so many things that are only hours, or even minutes away here in Korea. We've done camping, rock climbing, ice skating, hiking, skiing, fish foot eating....the list goes on and on.

Hope all is well!
