Meeting Dr. Sang

With the blessing of our director, Sarah and I were able to meet up with the Director of Asian Affairs from the University of Missouri. His name is Dr. Kim Sang Soon. He's a very respectful man, and I felt very lucky to meet him for the first time.

While out to dinner with Dr. Sang, we found out just how much of a relationship Mizzou has with South Korea. A lot of Universities throughout Korea, from Seoul, to Gwangju, to other cities, send their students to Mizzou for an intensive english program, and an Immersion into US culture. Some students then return to Mizzou for graduate degrees.

Some of Sarah's students actually went to school in Gwangju prior to coming to Mizzou. She was hoping to meet some of them, but we weren't able to. We did meet the 2nd group of students who has come to Mizzou from Gwangju, and they're a very nice bunch.

We hope that great things can happen for us with the relationship that Mizzou has with South Korea. Whether it be greater opportunities here, or doors opening up for us in the states, or even both.

You won't find too many of these here in Korea. Mizzou t-shirts, that is.
